Description
The Turkish March (“Alla Turca”) is one of Mozart’s most
widely known tunes, and is actually the third and final movement from his
Sonata No. 11 for piano. He composed this sonata at about the age of 27, when
the music of Turkish military marching bands was very much in fashion. This intermediate piano solo arrangement
takes the tempo a bit slower and is based on the sounds of funk music:
syncopated rhythms and heavy emphasis on the first downbeat of each
measure. 5 pages with a shorter option
to end on page 3. Performance time: approximately 2:00.
