Description
The Fairy Barque is a nautical adventure in the style of a Barcarolle. The music describes the ship called the “Fairy Barque” (a barque is a tall ship with three masts) deftly cutting through the waves and rolling gently on the sea. The piece is written in 6/8 (compound duple) and features straightforward rhythmic patterns from this metre. It is scored for Full Concert or Symphonic Band.
- The score has parts for rarer instruments such as the English Horn (Cor Anglais), Eb Soprano Clarinet, Eb Alto Clarinet, Bb Contrabass Clarinet and Contrabassoon.
- An optional piano part is also supplied, that can assist if you have missing instruments. However, the score is definitely playable without the extra instruments, as the parts are doubled or cued in more common instrument parts.
- Euphonium / Baritone parts are supplied in both Bass and transposed Bb Treble Clef.
- If you need additional parts such as Eb Horns or Eb Contralto Clarinet, I am happy to supply these at no extra cost – just add an enquiry above.
