Dear piano players of all ages!
Thanks to Corona, the beautiful tradition of house music and learning an instrument from scratch may be revived again. At least that’s the somewhat utopian wish of a person who, in his youth, still looked down on automatic accompaniment and synthesizers with a certain bourgeois snobbery.
Nonetheless, I loved punk as popularized by Nina Hagen; I also loved Scarlatti and of course the masters of the 20th century, whether in jazz or classical music:
From Art Tatum to Oscar Peterson, from Neoclassicism to Pink Floyd:
That was the world in the 70s of the 20th century, in which I grew up and in my own way I tried to reconcile the Bach & Chopin love of my parents’ house with the world around me.
I hope you enjoy playing this collection!
In a way, it is the must of my musical life, from which everything later on that was high-percentage developed.
Yours,
Adrian Sebastian Werum
