Description:Â This is a transcription of Tempo di Minuetto by Myles Birket Foster (1851-1922).
Myles Birket Foster (1851-1922) was a popular British composer, most well-known for his choral music. Born in London, Foster was introduced to music at an early age and began his formal training at the Royal Academy of Music. He went on to become a prolific composer, producing over 200 works for choir, orchestra, and chamber groups. Foster’s music was often inspired by nature and the English countryside, and his choral works are especially noted for their romantic lyricism and colorful harmonies. Despite his success as a composer, Foster remained humble and dedicated to his craft, and he continued composing up until his death in 1922. Today, Foster’s choral music remains a beloved part of the British musical canon.
