Description
Felix Mendelssohn was a young teenager when he wrote his string symphonies. Granted, they do not have the maturity and flare of his later works, they prove him to be extremely gifted even at his young age. This setting for woodwind quartet by John Gibson is his String Symphony #3 in e minor. It includes three movements and runs 10 minutes with repeats. The quartet is set for flute, oboe, Bb clarinet, and bassoon. If taken at a brisk tempo it is a challenge for any group!
