Description

The text of Stabat Mater dolorosa is thought to originate from Franciscan sources in the 13th century. It was in 1898, while he was at secondary school in Nagyszombat, that Kodály wrote his strophic Stabat Mater for a capella male choir.

I used the version for mixed choir (arranged by Imre Sulyok) in my arrangement and I add additional parts for a string quintet or string orchestra. The arrangement sounds great and emotional.

Is recorded with the powerful Vienna Ensemble Software, Convolution Reverb and Mastering.
