Description
John Field was born in Ireland in 1782. He was a fine pianist and has been known as one of the early originators of the “Nocturne”. His 18 Nocturnes for piano is composed in such a way as the melody is carried mostly by the right hand while the left hand produces a harmony figure. This makes this Nocturne #18 (Midi – Noontide) a likely one to arrange as a clarinet solo with piano. The piece runs about 5 minutes and has lots of scale passages, so practice up your Eb, Bb, and B major scales!
