Description
Le Carillon is a stunningly beautiful work originally written for Organ by William Wolstenholme.
A Carillon is a large musical instrument commonly made up of twenty-four pitched church like bells that are often housed in a large tower. The bells are played by a keyboard like instrument which rings out over a town. This piece of music mimics some of the carillon-style sounds within a 6/8 pastorale-like feel. The work features the Glockenspiel, the German name for a Carillon and the Tubular Bells (or Chimes).
- Optional parts for Eb Alto Saxophone, Bb Tenor Saxophone and Piano are also supplied. These can be used to add colour or can assist if you are missing instruments, particularly Bassoons or Horns 1 & 3 or the ensemble has an insufficient number of lower strings.
