Description
Here Gounod’s famous work is arranged for wind quintet. Apart from the intro, which Gounod later uses, it is based largely off Recker’s arrangement which closely follows the original piano version. Gounod is reportedly meant to have written this piece as a tongue-in-cheek parody of a music critic he didn’t like. It later became a theme associated with Alfred Hitchcock.
