Description
This piece started life as a section in a larger work – my “Impressions of the English Lakes”. The original piece is a tone poem describing a trip into the Lake District and the sights we saw. One of those was the Beatrix Potter Museum and I was quite taken with the tale of Mr Jeremy Fisher, a frog friend of Peter Rabbit who has an adventure with a wily trout which nearly pulls him to his death, but he escapes. This music describes the jolly little frog character with his lolloping gait and his scrape with the wilt trout.
This is a great piece for a children’s concert or any summer programme.
