Description
One of my first musical projects was writing a piece for
each member of my immediate family (see Family Suite). A few years later, I
decided to write a piece in honor of the person who first got me started in
music, oversaw my piano practicing as a kid, played piano and accordion duets
with me, practiced wonderful classical music herself for me to listen to as I
fell asleep at night, and has always been one of my biggest fans. I know she
loves playing boogie-woogie music and likes anything in a minor key, like I do,
so this one’s for my mom. It’s named after Eight Dollar Mountain, which
overlooks the house I grew up in in southern Oregon. 2 pages. Early
intermediate level. Advanced intermediate arrangement also available.
