Monteverdi’s Lament for love cries out for instrumental treatment.
The
music is written for two choirs, one acting as continuo and the other
takes the vocal lines. In this setting for clarinets, the poignancy of
the music is thoroughly brought out.
Parts supplied for clarinets 1-4 in Bb plus Bb Bass clarinets x2, ‘Cello and Contrabass.
