Description
An alternating sequence of pensive 3/4 time and jolly 7/4 time, ending with the 3/4 as the thinker finally falls asleep.
The work is based on my earlier choral setting of Psalm 70 (Be pleased, O God, to deliver me) in which the psalmist moves from despair to hope.
