Description
This beautiful Maori love song has here been arranged for British brass band. After the opening chords set the scene, a single solo cornet starts the melody. They are joined, after a few bars, by the flugelhorn, solo horn and first horn. Then other sections gradually join in (solo cornets are now tuttl). This continues for another iteration of the melody until the change of key, where the full band plays. This new section contains new material, including hints of “Aloha oe”. The key changes again and we move to the conclusion for the last vers. The music gradually fades away to the end.
