Bint Al Shalabiya (Beautiful Girl) is a very old tune made famous in Egypt by the great singer Daoud Hosni. It was later adapted by the Rahbani Brothers and performed by Feyrouz in Lebanon. It’s a very joyful song, with a dancing mood, describing how much a lover adores his beautiful sweetheart with almond green eyes, how he waited for her under the arches (a feature of old Lebanese houses), and how difficult it was for her to resist coming to meet him.
