As I Sit in Heaven” Piano and solo voice – The audio and youtube link has the full instrumental version so you can see the potential of this setting. Hazel Birdsall who wrote this beautiful poem which has been used to comfort people all over the world, has given me written permission to set it to music. Used for sacred, church services, funerals, memorials, remembrance, commemorations or anything where the need arises. Words available online- but are included in the score. Written in the key of D major, Intermediate level. It is scored for piano and solo voice, but can easily be adapted for duets, quartets, choirs, it could even be used as an instrumental interlude. I wanted to produce an element of reflection, whilst hopefully bring comfort in the music to compliment Hazel’s lovely poem. 9 pages- 4 mins long.
