Description: This is my transcription of Andante English, Samuel Wesley (1766-1837).

Samuel Wesley was an English composer and organist born in Bristol in 1766. He was the son of noted hymn writer Charles Wesley and the nephew of composer John Wesley. Samuel Wesley began his musical career as a choirboy in his father’s church and later studied under noted composers like Johann Christian Bach and Carl Friedrich Abel.

Wesley was a prolific composer, with works ranging from orchestral and choral pieces to hymns and keyboard music. He was known for his skillful use of counterpoint and his ability to meld various musical styles, including those of Bach and Handel.
